One of my all time favorites! We all know Kristin Hannah has the most beautiful writing, and this book is no exception. It definitely broke my heart, but I love a book that makes me feel something. I loved watching Leni’s journey of self discovery and finding hope in the darkest times. The setting draws you in and you really feel like you know the characters.

A Vietnam War Veteran decides to move with his wife and daughter to a remote part of Alaska. His mental health is not great, and they are greatly unprepared for the harsh winters and conditions they’re living in.

Perfect if you like:

  • Alaska setting.

  • A tear jerker!

  • Strong, female main character.
