The Red Tent by Anita Diamant

This is a book that I think every woman should read. I never thought I’d want to read biblical historical fiction, but this was fascinating, gripping, and thought provoking. I loved all of the female relationships and the ways that they celebrated and supported each other’s womanhood.

I was fascinated hearing about all of the labors + births, and the way women completely cared for and nurtured each other after each birth. Even mourning with each other when babies passed. The insights on motherhood and the mothers we have during our lives was fascinating.

Read it! I think people either love or hate this book and I happened to love it!
