The Diamond Eye by Kate Quinn

I have yet to be disappointed with a Kate Quinn novel! WWII setting with a strong female lead does it for me every time. I LOVED this. Mila is a strong, determined, brave main character that you root for the entire book. I loved reading about this mother, who becomes a hero and changes history forever. Added bonus that it is based on a true story! This book is set on the front lines of war, so not for the faint of heart.

When Hitler invades the Soviet Union, Mila, who is a grad student and librarian, enlists and becomes a sniper.

Perfect if you like:

  • Back and forth timeline.

  • Love stories throughout.

  • WWII setting.
