I'm Fine and Neither Are You by Camille Pagán

Penelope is a wife, mother, breadwinner, and barely keeping it together. Meanwhile her best friend Jenny appears to be sailing through life. A tragedy forces Penelope to re-evalute her perception of their lives. This is a book I love to lend out to my mom friends. The story relates to the hilarity and lows of motherhood (especially with young kids) so well!

It made me laugh out loud, cry, and feel so seen with the absurd antics of young kids. This book stuck with me for a long time after reading it. I found myself evaluating my life and what brings true happiness- in a non self-help book kind of way. I do think the target audience is mothers for the story to have an impact.
