House of Sky and Breath (Crescent City Book 2) by Sarah J. Maas

WOW! This was a complicated one to rate and I had to give it a few days to settle before I jumped in. A true sign of a good book to me is one that I can’t stop thinking about for days after it ends. I've found myself wanting to gravitate back towards this world and the unforgettable characters. I just have soooo many unanswered questions! A bit angry over that; but it is what it is!

We are given another high level fantasy with HOSAB; and I found myself enjoying it even more than House of Earth and Blood (CC1) because the world building was done and I could just continue to build on it! I can totally see why people re-read these novels. There is so much foreshadowing, unexpected twists, and of course lots of details to remember! I buddy-read this book and I’m now looking to convince anyone else who will listen to me to jump in!

I won’t say much else about the book here so as not to spoil anything! I highly recommend reading ACOTAR or the Throne of Glass series first. There’s plenty of debate on the order of SJM’s different series, but I personally started on ACOTAR (my favorite series of hers).

This book is heavy on the explicit intimacy scenes, but I felt like it wasn't on the same level as ACOSF.
