🎧 I love listening to nonfiction books when they are narrated by the author. It gives the story the personality it deserves! I might have a slight bias to this book since I'm a nurse and my husband is a resident. The stories are graphic and the humor is often crude + dark which is not uncommon in the healthcare field.

This quote stood out:

"So I told them the truth: the hours are terrible, the pay is terrible, the conditions are terrible; you're under-appreciated, un-supported, disrespected and frequently physically endangered. But there's no better job in the world."

I think this may have been a five star read for me although I disagreed with some of the comments surrounding midwifery. All around entertaining and heartbreaking!
